Choose Chicago, the city’s official destination marketing organization, is preparing to host thousands of key global travel buyers and media for U.S. Travel Association’s IPW 2025. Taking place June 14 – 18 and coming at a pivotal time for Choose Chicago and the global tourism industry, IPW will be the opportunity to showcase the Best Big City in the U.S. to some of the most important travel decision makers and media from around the world. Attendees from over 70 countries will take part in official events at iconic Chicago locations, including Wrigley Field, the Field Museum, Navy Pier, Skydeck Chicago, the Magnificent Mile, and featured neighborhoods. IPW comes as Choose Chicago launches their new marketing campaign, “Never Done. Never Outdone.” Attendees will see campaign visuals and messaging across events and activations, throughout IPW.
“We’re thrilled to welcome our colleagues from around the world to Chicago for IPW 2025,” said Choose Chicago President and CEO Kristen Reynolds. “From a press brunch at Wrigley Field to an opening night celebration at the Field Museum, neighborhood showcases, a Mag Mile extravaganza, and a closing night bash at Navy Pier, we are truly putting some of Chicago’s finest attractions and tourism assets on display. We are taking full advantage of this opportunity to show the world what a city that’s Never Done and Never Outdone looks and feels like. I truly cannot wait to share my city!”
“Tourism and hospitality are key drivers of economic development in Illinois and we’re proud to host IPW 2025 and showcase all the Middle of Everything has to offer,” said Governor JB Pritzker. “IPW is an incredible opportunity to boost tourism across Illinois – shining a light on our world-class culinary scene, architecture, cultural institutions, and attractions that make our state such a great place to visit.”
“I hope that all the attendees in town for IPW 2025 will take the opportunity to get out and explore beyond their official itineraries to see what makes Chicago so special,” said Mayor Brandon Johnson. “Chicagoans are the most welcoming, innovative, and accepting people in the world, and when visitors get out and interact with our residents, they understand that. The people of Chicago are the best part of our city and why we are still reigning as the Best Big City in the United States.
Choose Chicago President and CEO Kristen Reynolds, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson will be addressing IPW attendees at the Opening Luncheon on Monday, June 16.
Last hosted by Chicago in 2014, the U.S. Travel Association’s IPW is the largest international inbound travel trade show in the country, bringing thousands of travel buyers and media to Chicago to connect with domestic travel exhibitors, generating global media coverage and leading to future business. The U.S. Travel Association estimates that business conducted at IPW generates upward of $5.5 billion in future travel to the United States, with the host city historically receiving an outsized portion of that impact.
All business portions of IPW 2025, including over 100,000 business and media appointments, will take place at McCormick Place, the largest and most flexible convention center in North America. IPW attendees will have the opportunity to explore some of the most iconic locations in Chicago with a Press Brunch at Wrigley Field, House Party 2.0 Opening Night at the Field Museum, Playcation Closing Night at Navy Pier, and Pie in the Sky at Skydeck Chicago. IPW visitors will have the opportunity to explore Chicago with curated activities on their open nights, including a special Magnificent Mile activation with dining deals and unique experiences on Monday and explorations of the Pilsen, West Town, and Hyde Park neighborhoods on Tuesday. Choose Chicago is also sponsoring the IGLTA Foundation 2025 Pride Reception at IPW, taking place at Sidetrack Chicago.
IPW 2025 comes after Chicago released 2024 tourism data showing over 55 million visitors and a record-setting tourism economic impact of $20.6 billion. IPW visitors will have the opportunity to hear directly from Choose Chicago on what’s new and coming soon in Chicago. Choose Chicago will also be joined by more than 25 exhibiting partners made up of some of the leading cultural institutions, attractions, and professional sports teams in Chicago.
