Lupita Nyong’o at Essence’s Black Women in Hollywood luncheon
Lupita Nyong’o was spotted at ESSENCE’s Black Women in Hollywood event Thursday and was honored for her performance in 12 Years a Slave. Before accepting an award for “Best Breakthrough Performance,” the stunner was spotted on the red carpet looking ethereal in white.
In addition to her stylish garb, Nyong’o’s expertly applied makeup gave her a soft glow. Hollywood’s top makeup artist, Nick Barose gussied up the star and is sharing the inspiration and “how-to” steps to achieve Nyong’o’s red carpet look using L’Oréal Paris, YSL, Lancôme and Giorgio Armani products.
Oscar nominee Nyong’o wanted a natural, yet polished, look so Barose used warm colors including a light plum liner on eyes, coral on cheeks to give the look of a natural flush, and soft rosy lips to give a bit of contrast with her ivory colored dress. The final look was sophisticated and elegant, yet still youthful.
