Missoni for Target Hits the Bull's-Eye During Fashion’s Night Out in New York

On Fashion’s Night Out, the Missoni for Target pop-up store, located at the corner of 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue in Manhattan, sold out. Enthusiasts of the legendary Italian fashion house’s creations started lining up as early as noon to be the first to get their hands on the limited-edition bicycles, luggage, collection of apparel and accessories for women, men, girls and baby, as well as home goods including bedding, dinnerware, stationery and décor. All of the products will be available in stores from Sept. 13 through Oct. 22, 2011, at all Target stores and on Target.com. The original plan was for the pop-up store to remain open from Sept. 8 until Sept. 10, 2011, or until merchandise sold out, whichever came first.

As I chatted up shoppers, Angela and Margherita Missoni greeted us and they were amazed to see their budget-friendly collection so well received.

The Target spokesperson made periodic walks along the sidewalk to offer updates and to welcome us as we anxiously awaited our turn to get our hands on this coveted collection.


“I am here to make sure everyone stays informed and is aware that we have enough merchandise for everyone to purchase something tonight. However, I can’t make any guarantees for tomorrow. I want to point out that we don’t have everything that’s available in the collection here tonight. For example, men’s socks and ties are available, but not the sweaters. Stick around and be patient,” she shared.

She also offered insider information saying that at midnight on Sept. 13, 2011, the iconic Missoni for Target would go on sale at target.com until 7 a.m.

Prices will range from $2.99 to $599.99. Pending availability, select pieces from the collection, including a variety of online-only items, will be available for an extended run through early December at Target.com. –yvette caslin
