A reported gang member in Boston will have to spend the next year and a half behind bars because of a photo posted on Instagram and Twitter.

According to reports by The Smoking Gun, Kwmaine Davis posted photos of himself holding two guns in March. It appears that Davis was at a shooting range when the photo was taken. The caption on the photo says, “I’m really about that action.”

However, police were following Davis on social media. Davis is a felon and was not allowed to carry weapons due to terms of his probation. In 2009, Davis was convicted of illegal possession of a firearm. After the conviction, he was unable to carry a gun, even if he happened to visit a shooting range.

Police believe that Davis is a member of the H-Block gang that operates in the Roxbury section of Boston.

Once prosecutors found the photo, they recommended that Davis serve 18 months in jail. Davis and his lawyers agreed to the sentence.
