An African American beauty was crowned homecoming queen at the University of Mississippi over the weekend. Courtney Pearson is the first black woman to hold the crown. The university began admitting black students 50 years ago.
Pearson was very excited to be crowned and said she is still in shock. She’s a senior and an education major. Congratulations to her!
