50 and Oprah Bury the Hatchet
Even after 50 Cent named his ‘b—-‘ after her, Oprah put the past aside with the popular Queens, N.Y., rapper and agreed to interview him for her OWN TV program.
Just last year, a video circulated of 50 talking to his dog that he named after the mogul. After giving her commands while she wore a pink cast on her leg, he insinuated that he broke the dog’s bone in retaliation for her disobedience. “Oprah, Oprah, you don’t wanna talk to us today? See how b—– be using n—-s?” said Cent in the viral vid. “See that’s why I broke your m——– leg.” Following tha,t the rapper appeared on ABC’s “The View” and admitted that naming his pet after Winfrey has helped him cope with his disdain for the mogul. “It started out negative ’cause I thought Oprah didn’t like hip-hop culture. I got the dog and now I love Oprah. I started to feel like I didn’t like her and I hadn’t met her.”
Obviously unaffected by his doggy diss and criticism, Oprah decided to film the rapper this week for an episode of her “Next Chapter” program. During the program, the billionaire show host explains that she learned several things from 50, including his views on meditation and that he has two alter egos; Curtis Jackson and 50 Cent. “Great conversation about rap culture, fatherhood, love and life,” said Oprah. “He describes himself as two people — Curtis and 50 Cent — I was fascinated to hear his description of them both. Really glad I did it. Really liked him.”
Oprah’s interview with 50 will air Sunday, June 10 at 9 p.m. on OWN. In addition to 50 Cent, Oprah will sit down with Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris, on the program. –danielle canada
