'Django Unchained' breaks Quentin Tarantino's box-office record

Django Unchained may not be sweeping the awards circuit, but the Quentin Tarantino film is racking up dollars at the box office and it was recently revealed that it has now become Tarantino’s highest grossing film.

According to Deadline, Django, which stars Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson, has reached nearly $129.1 million in sales, surpassing Tarantino’s previous box-office titan, 2007’s Inglourious Basterds.

Besides being a financial success (and a lightning rod for controversy), Django has also been met with massive critical acclaim and recently earned two Golden Globes and five Academy Award nominations.

Congratulations to Tarantino and his stellar cast on the box-office success. Check out Tarantino’s other box-office hits below.  –nicholas robinson
