Fans of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” know that Kandi Burruss’ mother, Mama Joyce, is hard to please when it comes to embracing the men her daughter dates. Although it seemed like Joyce took a liking to Burruss’ longtime boyfriend and fiancé, Todd Tucker, a super trailer of the new “RHOA” season shows that Joyce isn’t happy with Tucker and even accused him of cheating on Burruss. Even though it’s been months since the scenes were filmed, Burruss recently claimed that Joyce still doesn’t approve of her relationship with Tucker.
We’re “still working on the approval,” Burruss said in an interview with Fox 5 Atlanta while sitting next to her fiancé.
Burruss, who has created a new stage play, A Mother’s Love, around the concept of overprotective mothers, claims that, “When it comes to relationships and things, mothers—not just my mother—have a problem letting to and letting their daughter make their own decisions.”
“It’s inspired by my relationship with my mother,” she said about the production. “It goes through the tough times. Obviously, at the end, it’s a wonderful happy ending.”
Burruss and Tucker are hoping for their own happy ending, but fans looking for a quick answer about whether or not Joyce gets in the way of their nuptials or if they’ll get married on the show, you’re plain out of luck. The couple says that you’ll just have to watch to find out.
Something tells us we’ll all definitely be tuning in to find out.
