Lil Scrappy Shares Heartbreak Over Split With Diamond: 4 Other Heartbroken Emcees

Lil Scrappy has been known to bare his soul to the public, much preferring to lyrically throw ‘bows or get the party started on his songs. But in a recent interview on MTV’s “RapFix Live,” Scrappy finally removed his crunk iron shield and let fans in on the pain of his failed relationship with rapper Diamond.

As many already know, Scrappy and Diamond dated for years and were reportedly even engaged until last year when Diamond dumped Scrappy amid rumors of financial trouble. And the scrutiny of their breakup was only made worse when it was revealed that Diamond quickly rebounded with fellow ATL rapper Soulja Boy.

Scrappy now claims that he holds no grudge against Soulja Boy, but admits that he’s not the best when choosing who to let into his heart.

“When that Diamond situation happened, it just taught me a real valuable lesson, ‘cause I know, as I can see, I’m not a good judge of character,” Scrappy told host Sway Calloway.

Scrappy says that while he and Diamond were dating, he tried to help the former Crime Mob rapper establish herself as a solo star. But after the breakup, he realized that he may have overextended himself in helping her.

“I ain’t never had my little heart broken before, but now that it happened, I don’t think it would happen for a long time,” he said. “But the good side about that is, you don’t put nobody before God, don’t ever put nobody before God, and I think I did a little bit of that trying to help her.”

Now, Scrappy is trying to rekindle his romance with his child’s mom, Erica, all while cameras record on “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.” And though having fans watch the ups and downs of his relationship may seem invasive, Scrappy says it goes along with the new life he’s trying to live — one of honesty and introspection.

“I just want to be real with life,” he told Sway. “Now that’s all I like to do. I like to be truthful.”

That’s a good way to live. And like Scrappy, below are some other male emcees who’ve opened up about their heartbreaks to the public.
