Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs to Be Presented With ASCAP Founders Award

Diddy

Sean Combs, Diddy, P. Diddy, Papa Diddy Pop and whatever else he’s called these days has undoubtedly inspired many rappers and aspiring music moguls in the industry and ASCAP is taking note of his influence. The organization will honor the Bad Boy Records founder in an invite-only affair during ASCAP’s 24th annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.

At the awards ceremony, Diddy will be presented with the ASCAP Founders Award. The honor, dubbed as the “most prestigious” by the organization, is given to songwriters and composers who have made pioneering contributions to the music industry by inspiring their peers. The likes of Stevie Wonder, Dr. Dre, Smokey Robinson and Berry Gordy, Jr. are a few of the past recipients to have been presented with the award.

“To be recognized for my contributions to music by ASCAP, an organization that represents music creators is a true honor,” said Diddy. “All I wanted to do was make people dance and hopefully inspire others to never settle for anything but their best.”

This is definitely a great honor for anyone in the music industry, so congrats Mr. Swag!!
