NEW YORK – Celebrities Tamia Hill and Holly Robinson-Peete helped McDonald’s celebrate World Children’s Day recently at the Ronald McDonald House of New York.
The ladies were joined by Mocha Moms, a support group for stay-at-home mothers of color, for a day of baking and more during the annual event that raises money for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
In addition to showcasing their baking skills, both Hill and Robinson-Peete also demonstrated their decorating talents, helping to prepare the facility for the holiday season.
The Ronald McDonald House offers temporary housing to children undergoing cancer treatment and their families. Hill also made time to flex her vocal chords by closing the day out with a much appreciated performance. With McDonald’s Junior Gospel Choir singing backup, she graced the crowd with a rousing rendition of her song, “Still,” and Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope U Dance.”
In describing the experience of performing with the choir, Tamia said, “There’s something about hearing a child’s voice that I love. They got up there, [sang] their hearts out and did a wonderful job.” .” –ivory m. jones
