In the wake of the deaths of Travyon Martin and Darius Simmons, many individuals and organizations around the nation have became very vocal and visible in the fight for justice and equality for African Americans.
The My Heart Beat Matters Campaign has joined that list of advocators with the launch of their website, MyHeartBeatMatters.org, to become a resource for African Americans to stay actively informed on state laws, voting registration and civil rights.
Recently, Atlanta based M.H.B.M founder Kimberly Epps of Purple Label PR teamed up with Royal Flush Studios in Atlanta, rallying celebs, tastemakers, music producers and artists in an effort to shed light on the growing number of senseless murders of unarmed African Americans in the U.S. for a photo shoot with a few of the campaign’s supporters.
With photographer Arthur Butler of Urban Poshture Photography, M.H.B.M has launched their Internet campaign which allows supporters the opportunity to purchase their own “My Heartbeat Matters” T-shirt with a portion of the proceeds going to the families of victims that have died at the hands of violence while unarmed.
Join the movement and share your stories of lost loved ones on our “Flat lined Heart Beats” page. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Martin and Simmons families as well as other families that have suffered similar tragedies.
