Drake Clarifies Nate Dogg Tweet

The controversy surrounding Drake and his curious Nate Dogg tweet can now be put to rest. That recent development occurred when the rapper cleared the air after setting the Twitter world abuzz just days ago.

Following the tragic death of the rap world icon, celebs and fans alike tweeted their condolences. Everyone from Fabolous to 50 Cent weighed in on the loss. Drake’s thoughts weren’t as easy to decipher when he tweeted: “It’s easy to love me now. RIP Nate Dogg.”

Following the tweet, a steady stream of comments — mostly negative — flooded in. In the eyes of many, Drake was using the tragedy to place unnecessary attention on himself. He quickly clarified what he meant.

“It’s very sad to hear that we lost him,” he said. “He contributed some phenomenal music to the world and I think it’s just important to remember what he has done … I actually tweeted about it as soon as I heard. One of my favorite lyrics of his was on ’21 Questions.’ It’s when he said, ‘It’s easy to love me now.’ I’m kind of at that point in my life where I am 24-years-old and everything has changed. It’s easy to love me now for a lot of people that did not love me before.”

Guess that clears that up. R.I.P. Nate Dogg. — djr
