Lotsa variety hitting the stage in New York this week. Get ready to make some choices between high-powered hip-hop and classic soul, a flautist and a little bit of metal.
Big shows are hitting the Big Apple this week–and none are bigger than Beyonce’s “Mrs. Carter” Tour. But the superstar diva isn’t the only noteworthy performer taking the stage in NYC this week, there’s a ton of great acts putting on shows. And it’s an extraordinarily varied week for live music in the city.
Last week’s concerts in the New York City era were dominated by high-profile hip-hop stars. So this week, things are a bit more on the “veteran rock star” side of things. There are lots of legends taking the stage around the city as we get closer to the end of July–and not just rock artists. There are several soul, jazz, pop and gospel icons making their presence felt, as well.
Some of our favorite artists have released some great tracks this week to add to our R&B and soul playlists. Alicia Keys celebrated a birthday this past weekend, and she also released part two to “Brand New Me.” PJ Morton recruited the great Stevie Wonder for his track “Only One,” while Chrisette Michelle and Tweet delivered new music as well. “Love & Hip Hop“‘s Olivia proved that she didn’t need Erica Mena or Consequence as she teams up with French Montana for her latest track, “I Do.” Check it out!
