Kelly Osbourne exits 'Fashion Police'

It’s the end of the road for Kelly Osbourne at “Fashion Police.”

“Kelly Osbourne is departing E!s Fashion Police to pursue other opportunities, and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers,” E! Entertainment said in a statement Friday.

As previously reported, following the controversy surrounding comments made about Zendaya Coleman’s dreadlock hairstyle by “Fashion Police” co-host Giuliana Rancic, Osbourne took a stand against racism and threatened to quit the show after critics attacked her on social media, claiming that she too was a racist.

“The situation is being rectified like adults by both parties. I hope you can leave it to them and do the same,” the British TV personality tweeted on Tuesday. Osbourne continued to fuel the fire by reminding fans that she is a friend of the “K.C. Undercover” actress — and questioning staying on the show unless the situation is resolved.

Rancic, 40, later backpedaled and apologized for her statements in a heartfelt apology video, claiming that she was simply commenting on the overall “bohemian chic look” and was deeply sorry for her hurtful words. Unfortunately, it seems like Rancic’s apology wasn’t enough to calm the waters for Osbourne, who despite Rancic’s plea, exited the show anyway.

“Kelly Osbourne is a friend and has been a wonderful part of the ‘Fashion Police’ family. I will miss her terribly and wish her the very best in all of her future endeavors. As my mother always said, the show must go on and I plan to continue in the same spirit,” executive producer Melissa Rivers added via WhoSay.

Last month, “Fashion Police” resumed with comedian Kathy Griffin hosting after a hiatus following the death of founding host Joan Rivers on Sept. 4, 2014. While there’s been no word as to who fill Osbourne’s slot, the hit fashion commentary show will continue as scheduled.

” ‘Fashion Police’ will return, as scheduled, on Monday, March 30, at 9 p.m. and no decisions have been made on her replacement,” confirmed E!.
