Demetria Lucas and Mica Hughes tell their sides of the ‘Blood, Sweat and Heels’ blowup

Demetria Lucas and Mica Hughes talk ‘Blood, Sweat and Heels’ fight

Demetria Lucas and Mica Hughes are both telling their sides of the story about the drama shown Sunday on “Blood, Sweat and Heels.” The reality show about New York city movers and shakers took a dramatic turn when model Mica Hughes showed up for a weekend in the Hamptons intoxicated and was chastised for being late.

Things quickly escalated when Demetria Lucas and Geneva Thomas asked the starlet why she was late, which apparently made her feel verbally attacked. Unbeknownst to the two ladies, however, Hughes was dealing with the death of her father who died just hours earlier.

“I was ambushed,” wrote Hughes on Twitter while the show was airing. “Clearly no compassion,” she added.

According to Lucas, however, there was no excuse for Hughes’ behavior.

“In Sag Harbor, I didn’t want to deal with [Hughes’] drunk behavior — the same behavior showcased on every episode thus far — again,” wrote Lucas on her ABelleInBrooklyn blog.

“She was clearly looking for a fight. I wasn’t up for it, especially since it’s not like reality stars get Emmys for great meltdowns or blowups. Acting out on camera may be her brand, but it isn’t mine.

“Her father’s passing, which she declined to talk about when Geneva asked and did not share with the cast until after her meltdown, is unfortunate,” added Lucas. “But it is also reprehensible to use it as an excuse for her obnoxious behavior.”

So far fans have mixed reviews on the melee that went down with some siding with Hughes, who was obviously distraught, and others agreeing that belligerently drunken behavior is never acceptable no matter the reason.
