“Empire’s” Taraji P. Henson is heading to “Saturday Night Live.” In April, Henson will host the sketch comedy show for the first time. Joining the Oscar nominee will be musical guests Mumford & Sons, who will be making their second appearance on the show.

Previous hosts this season have included Chris Pratt, Bill Hader, Sarah Silverman, Chris Rock, Amy Adams, Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. Henson is the first Black woman to host the show since Kerry Washington took on the challenge last season, where she participated in a spoof criticizing the lack of diversity in the cast. Prior to Washington’s gig, Maya Rudolph hosted in 2012.

Meanwhile, Henson’s “Empire” wrapped up its record-breaking first season with massive numbers in viewership. A second season of the Fox series has already been announced. For more of Henson’s best TV roles yet, hit the flip.
