It gives rolling out great pleasure to pay homage to the cradle of civilizations and the irrefutable nucleus of the African American family: the black woman. Take a bow, mothers. This week is your week. Lay back and nestle yourselves within the cocoon of your family’s love and appreciation. It has been earned.
As part of the salute, we want to name the golden goddesses of Tinseltown — like Jada Pinkett Smith, Halle Berry and Lauren London —who have made the impossible possible. They have become big stars in the most unforgiving and cut-throat of professions yet have maintained that swag, all while successfully handling theirs on the home front.
