Chris Brown seems to be facing some serious repercussions following his violent outburst yesterday morning at ABC studios. Although the singer was set to perform next week on “Dancing with the Stars,” several of the network’s top executives are now demanding that Brown be banned from ABC. And now Brown may face jail time if ABC presses charges.
“Chris was so dangerous backstage that we called 911,” said a “Good Morning America” insider to popeater.com. “He totally flew off the handle after being asked a question about his 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna. Now ABC has to decide if they are willing to let this man promote his music on a family show on its network or walk away from this obviously troubled young man.”
During his promotional interview with “GMA” anchor Robin Roberts, Brown tried to redirect questions to focus on the release of his album, F.A.M.E., and explained “It’s not really a big deal to me now, as far as that situation. I think I’m passed that in my life. Today’s the album day, so that’s what I’m focused on.”
Following the interview and a performance, Brown returned to his dressing room and smashed a window before harassing a segment producer as he walked out.
Besides facing industry punishment, Brown also stands a real chance of once again facing a judge over his violent outburst.
As reported by billboard.com, California-based legal expert Peter T. Haven explains that Brown’s fit of rage will more than likely be examined by his probation officer and possibly a court of law.
“It’s just not breaking the window that’s problematic. The behavior itself is problematic,” said Haven. “It’s difficult to say if it will actually be a violation [of probation] — he may have an opportunity to present whatever kind of defense he has. But it will definitely capture the attention of his probation officer, who will take a look at it and probably have a talk with him about it.”
Because Brown deliberately damaged ABC’s property, he could be in violation of his parole if ABC or the police press charges against him. If so, he would likely be charged with criminal mischief.
