It’s
hard to believe, but with the recent release of NCAA Football 08, this
series has been around for 10 years. NCAA 08, like each of its
predecessors, offers some new game play enhancements to keep things
fresh.

This year, the biggest standout feature is Leadership
Control. By making big plays, the player you’re controlling can
influence other teammates to pick up their game. Essentially, the
better you play, so do the guys around you. If you consistently play
well, your squad will be pretty tough to beat. The other notable
feature is the new My Shrine. Here, you keep track of all your
accomplishments. Everything from trophies to victory patches and stats
are tracked in My Shrine. You’re even able to keep a scrapbook of big
play moments. My Skills tracks all of your football stats so that you
know where you stand and what you need to work on.

For the
most part, NCAA 08 adheres to the “If ain’t broke, don’t fix it” rule.
A lot of what you see and play will remind you of NCAA 07. Which isn’t
a bad thing, both games offer a solid game playing experience. It’s
just that if you’re a hardcore NCAA 07 fan and expecting major changes,
you might be a little disappointed. NCAA 08 is more of a refined
version of 07. But if you’re like most video gamers, when a new game is
released in a series, you just gotta have it. So you’ll probally end up
buying the game anyway. But either way you look at it, plunking down
your hard-earned cash for NCAA 08 is still a good decision. This is a
game that offers a lot of fun for the money. –dark abyss
