First Vice President, Washington Mutual

Washington Mutual has evolved into more than just another community
based bank with its clients’ interests at heart. With 50,000 plus
employees across the nation, giving people an opportunity for expansion
and growth is a vital area of concern for both Washington Mutual and
their first vice president, Felicia Pride.

“As a leading
financial services company, financial literacy is a top concern for us
and that’s why we offer a variety of educational programs and materials
for you and for us,” says Pride.
A rising executive, Pride has also been instrumental in many
organizations, including the National Urban League. “I’ve been involved
in the movement for about seven years now, and have been very, very
fortunate to work under the tutelage of some great individuals. I
appreciate their commitment, their efforts, their leadership, vision,
direction and patience with us at all times,” says Pride, a member of
the Seattle chapter of Urban League Young Professionals. “They have my
utmost respect – the Young Professionals as well as the guilds.”

Through partnership, Pride’s experiences with the National Urban League
have also served to benefit Washington Mutual. “This [partnership] has
enabled [Washington Mutual] to reach deeper into diverse neighborhoods
to help drive economic empowerment,” she says. “Our partnership
includes having Urban League representation on our national community
council.” -jason thompson
