Having built an underground buzz with his mixtapes, Streets Wanna Know
and New Gun In Town, Bronx-born Durell Mohammad is breaking out with
his debut album, For the Hell of It. Through 16 tracks peppered with
appearances from popular rappers, Rell offers gritty tales of crime,
money and his ability to overcome it all. The lead single, “Show Off,”
gives listeners the typical MC braggadocio, but on tracks like “Deep In
Love,” and “I Shall Proceed,” this wordsmith really shows off his
lyrical muscle. – gavin philip godfrey
