safety first
While most consumers are drawn to cars that are powerful and aesthetically pleasing, vehicles that have pronounced safety features tend to be more valuable in the long run. In this week’s edition of ro rides, we highlight a few of the safest vehicles of 2007. –amir shaw
2007 Audi A6
The 2007 Audi A6 could be the safest vehicle on the road. In a recent test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the Audi A6 received a “Good” score for frontal-offset and side-impact crash protection. With side-impact and rear-seat side impact airbags, injuries can be substantially reduced during an accident. The car’s exterior is also reinforced to handle side and rear impact with crumple zones on the side panels.
2007 Kia Sedona
The Kia Sedona is great for soccer moms. With an exceptional accident avoidance system, the Kia Sedona could be the safest minivan of 2007. Some of its impressive features include electronic stability control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The vehicle also comes with full-length side curtain air bags, an impact-absorbing steering column, and lower anchors and tethers for child protection.
2007 Volvo XC90
Volvo continues its legacy of outstanding safety with the 2007 XC90. One of the vehicle’s most advanced features is the roll stability control system. The system alerts drivers of a roll over by calculating roll speed and angle. If the car rolls over, an inflatable curtain covers three rows for passenger protection. And the bi-xenon headlights can move 15 degrees to the left or right to help the driver see around turns in dark areas.
