President, Realizing The Dream
A
human rights activist and political leader, Martin Luther King III
passionately promotes global equality, and much like his iconic father,
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., he has always supported the ideal of
African Americans realizing and utilizing their potential and power. As
president of the nonprofit organization, Realizing The Dream, King
seeks to help people overcome impediments to seizing power over their
lives and communities.
“If we talk about black power, economic
power; [we’re] talking about $800 billion that blacks in this country
spend. If we were to take our dollars and spend them somewhere else, if
we were a nation; we’d probably [be] the sixth or seventh largest
nation in the world. We’ve got to find a way to not just become
consumers, but manufacturers,” says King. – jason thompson
