Owner and CEO, Faith Productions
The passion and drive for greatness comes from within, according to screenwriter, producer and filmmaker Faith Diggs. “My main intention is for the audience to get the message that I’m trying to convey, so if I can cause any kind of emotion, whether it’s crying or laughter, that’s my main objective — to cause people to change because my messages are very inspirational yet controversial,” she explains.
Diggs has just released her feature drama, Abused Authority, which is about the antics of a rogue police officer. The Faith Productions owner and CEO believes that much can be understood through the work of art. “It’s just my conviction — the messages on the inside of me that I wanted to convey. If I can write a message that causes people to ponder and evaluate themselves and … make [them] want to change or go a different route … that would cause change in someone’s life,” explains Diggs.
With an impressive track record that includes several screenplays, children’s productions and gospel musicals, Diggs’ talents are not limited to moviemaking. She is also heavily involved with ballet and modern dance. “I’ve always had a knack for writing, even as a child, but I decided to go ahead and pursue it further. I started in church and then my vision got broader and I began to think of pursuing it on a different scale, a different professional level,” adds Diggs. Her plans to have her work on the big screen in the near future prove that she knows no limits. – jason thompson
