Jack Johnson claims that his latest release, Sleep Through the Static,
is darker in tone than anything he’s ever released. And it is – you
just have to try really hard to hear it. Johnson has gone more electric
this time around, but he still delivers his songs in that
easy-listening whisper that he’s known for. “Hope” stands out as one of
the best songs he’s recorded, but overall, Sleep . is only slightly
modified from what you’ve come to expect. – dusty culpepper
