The 33rd Annual Toronto Film Festival has officially kicked into high gear. With so many stars shining on the maple leaf city, you’d think the discussion of film would be their primary focus as they made their rounds with media. Quite the contrary. On the tip of seemingly everyone’s tongue was how much they truly enjoy the city itself. Hollywood notables give us the scoop on the T.O. dewayne rogers
Queen Latifah: “I’m always happy when I come to Toronto. This is one place where the people get it. I actually think it’s one of the most culturally diverse cities on the planet. Everyone just celebrates each other here. There is this Arabian restaurant that I like to go to down the street, and everyone is up in there … Blacks, Whites, Asians, [and] Hispanics. Nobody thinks about your skin color. We just come up in here with Al-Jazeera on TV just having a good time because the food is banging. That’s what Toronto is about.” Spike Lee: “I absolutely love Toronto. Growing up in New York when I first started coming here, all I could think about was how clean it was. This was like being in New York after someone swept. It’s just a really nice place to come to and I always enjoy being here.” Hot Txt Msg Tip from Megan Good Me: Hey Meg, you were right. Toronto is a really cool place to hang out. I know you kept telling me how much you loved it, but I guess I had to see it for myself.
