In his first and maybe last interview regarding his long legal battle and eventual not-guilty verdict, singer R. Kelly will sit down with Touré for the BET special “R. Kelly Speaks.” This is the third installment in the series of exclusive one-on-one interviews produced by BET News.
The half-hour interview will highlight, in detail, the intricacies of Kelly’s trial and the harsh criticism he’s faced in the six years since he was first charged with videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl. Prosecutors say the girl may have been as young as 13 at the time.
Kelly will speak about his feelings during and after the trial, as well as discuss the fans that he’s lost due to his legal troubles. He’ll also discuss his reaction to his brother, who openly stated that he was disturbed by Kelly’s sexual age preference. –j.h.
