lolita - stylish sipping

It started with a girl’s night out at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tenn. Lolita was savoring a cosmopolitan, when she realized there was something lacking in its presentation; the glass seemed naked to her. As an insider in the fashion industry for eight years, Lolita’s keen eye for style inspired her to create designer martini glasses. From the Divorce-tini to the popular Red Hot-tini (with red hots candy included), Designs by Lolita adds a glamorous aspect to martini glasses through its hand painted designs. Another unique product touch is that each glass includes a complimentary drink recipe.
“I was a fine arts major in college and I have always been painting and sketching. I had my first copyright at the age of 12,” says Lolita. “I started hand painting [the martini glasses] for friends and before I knew it, I was doing national trade shows, and then I got licensed. Most of my inspiration comes from the fashion industry. I really watch European runways and color patterns of the season. I also stay inspired by what’s happening with cocktails. I try to keep my fingertips on the pulse of what’s happening with trendy cocktails and some of the hip martini bars around the country and the world. I’ve always been very passionate about what I do, so I don’t take things very lightly.” -adrienne gadling
