T.I. Takes Over Atlanta

The folks over at Grand Hustle Records are busy. Not only are they dropping three highly anticipated albums over the next three weeks— T.I.’s Paper Trail, Big Kuntry’s My Turn to Eat and Alafamega’s I Am Alfamega—but this weekend they celebrated Tip’s release and birthday weekend with a slew of events around Atlanta.
Kicking it off with “Still Trippin—The Comedy Explosion” at the 14th Street Playhouse, hosted by Lil Duval, T.I. and DJ Drama, the weekend was full of activities. Highlighting the label’s current dynamic roster, which includes the recent signings of veteran rapper’s, Eightball & MJG and newbie rhymer, B.O.B. (who has been hailed as the next Kanye West), Saturday’s Teen Skate Jam at Cascade Family Skate brought out the entire roster. Later that night, T.I. celebrated his birthday in style with a private party hosted by DJ Khaled, DJ Drama and MLK.
Sunday was kicked off with a Power Brunch at the Spice Market, hosted by Tip, label president, Jason Geter and Kevin Liles. Sunday night, the weekend wrapped with the official album release party for Tip and Kuntry at the Velvet Room.
T.I. and Big Kuntry’s releases will be available Tuesday, Sept. 30. –j.h
