YORK—Superstar Justin Timberlake nearly brought things to a
grinding halt at New York City’s Grand Central Terminal recently
during a promotional appearance for Callaway Golf.
A crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the crooner, who was on hand to
help launch Callaway Golf’s newest driver, the FT-iQ, which is
being hailed as the “longest, straightest driver ever made by
Callaway.” Timberlake posed for photos with the sleek golf club
before heading over to take a few swings at the on-site driving range.
The chart-topper admitted that while his golf skills are far from
perfect, he was flattered that Callaway approached him to help promote
the new product, all the same. “Kudos to Callaway for signing
somebody up who is not a pro, who sort of just loves the game,”
he said at the event.
Timberlake will have more than enough time and space to practice his
swing with the FT-iQ driver; he purchased a golf course in his hometown
of Memphis and is in the process of transforming the course into
the first eco-friendly golf course in the U.S.
Callaway’s FT-iQ will be available in stores November 15. –ivory m. jones
