Michael Jackson's Thriller Hits the Big Stage in London

Michael
Jackson’s Thriller is arguably the most compelling event in the history
of popular music. It ranks as the top-selling album of all-time and the
landmark production was promoted by a 30-minute video that changed the
dynamics of the music industry and influenced a new generation of pop
stars.

Twenty-six years after the release of Thriller, a
musical production inspired by the album will be featured at London’s
Lyric Theatre at the top of 2009.

Created by executive director
Adrian Grant and choreographed by Gary Lloyd, Thriller Live features an
array of dancers and singers paying homage to Mr. Jackson’s
awe-inspiring music career. Along with songs from the Thriller album,
the performers cover a parade of Jackson hit which include “I Want You
Back,” “Rock With You,” “ABC,” “She’s Out of My Life,” “Dirty Diana,”
and “Earth Song.”

“I have the utmost respect for Michael Jackson and I am most grateful
that I have been able to produce Thriller Live,” Grant said in a
statement. “I hope that many fans will get the chance to see our new
show that features the talents of Flying Music – one of the West End’s
top production companies. There are also other surprises to look
forward to with regards to Thriller Live and these will be announced in
due course.”-a.r.
