Young Jeezy Puts on for His City
In celebration of the recent win of President-elect Barack Obama into the Oval Office, platinum-selling rapper Young Jeezy is calling upon the citizens of Atlanta to assist him in the filming of the video for his newest political cry “My President” featuring Nas. For the fourth single from his chart-topping third major label Corporate Thugz Entertainment/ DefJam album The Recession, Jeezy (who is co-directing the video with Gabriel Hart) will be holding a public rally at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta’s historic Old Fourth Ward this Sunday (November 23).
“The video is going to be a big block party, reminiscent of Public Enemy’s ‘Fight the Power,’” says CTE representative Bianca Mendez.
The video is the rapper’s latest showing of support for Barack Obama. In addition to voting for the first time during the election, Jeezy volunteered during Obama’s campaign and registered voters. The shoot will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
