The
McDonald’s Corporation continues to make a concerted effort to
help children around the world. McDonald’s recently held
fundraisers at several locations across the country that coincided with
World Children’s Day. Willie Blue joined actress Gabrielle Union
and McDonald’s owners Ron Molton and Melvin Jones in Southfield,
Mich. to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House. Rolling out caught
up with Blue, who serves as the marketing supervisor for
McDonald’s corporation in the Michigan region. –amir shaw

Discuss the importance of contributing during World Children’s Day.
It’s very important. We have used the day to promote the
well-being of children worldwide by helping to support our
children’s charity, the Ronald McDonald’s House. If
customers purchase a hand for one dollar or an extra value meal, the
money goes to support Ronald McDonald House.

What are some of the things that you do as a marketing supervisor for McDonald’s?
I’ve been working with McDonald’s for four years. In my
position, I work with franchise owners in the Michigan region. We do
strategic planning to develop marketing plans to increase our sales and
revenue around the state.

What are three keys to being successful in your position?
To be successful in any profession, you must be personable by staying
connected to your customers. You must also be a strategic leader and
unafraid to make mistakes.

Two books that Blue has read to help him stay abreast in business are:
Make it Happen by Kevin Lyles
Do You by Russell Simmons
