Talib Kweli Raising Money for Chicago Public Schools
Always known for reaching out into the community, MC, Talib Kweli is partnering with the Dare 2 Dream organization to perform two benefit concerts at the Chicago House of Blues. Non-profit organization, Working in the Schools (WITS) will use proceed from the shows towards tutoring programs in the Chicago Public School system, ranked among the nation’s worst in terms of graduation rates. The shows are set to take place May 2nd.  

Eminem to Release 2 Relapse Albums in 2009
On the verge of officially becoming a hip-hop hermit, Eminem is back with two new albums for 2009. Most fans already know about The Relapse, Slim Shady’s first album since 2004’s Encore, set for a May 19 release. Recently, the Detroit MC announced that he and Dr. Dre had recorded enough exceptional material for a Relapse 2, and the album will drop before the end of the year. “A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year. I was one of them,” Eminem said in a recent press statement. “Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff.” –gavin philip godfrey
