Much time has passed since Keri Hilson’s industry buzz started brewing, set-off largely because of her long list of writing credits for stars like Omarion and Ciara. But finally, her debut album has arrived, and it strives to live up to some pretty lofty expectations. By-and- large, it succeeds, led by the catchy “Turning Me On,” featuring Wayne (and the diss-filled remix). Full of upbeat, synthensized production and airy lyrics, as in the vengeful “How Does It Feel” and sprinkled with solemn tracks like “Where Did He Go,” Keri shows she’s a jack-of-all trades and has the goods to be around for a long time.
