There was a time when the pairing of Redman and Method Man was greeted with fanfare and high expectations. The veteran emcees’ second album as a duo was decidedly less high profile than their 1999 debut, but the results are infinitely more satisfying. “Dangerous MCs” finds the pair sounding invigorated over one of Erick Sermon’s best beats in years, and “City Lights” (with a spot from Bun B) is the best track here. A surprisingly strong effort from two of hip-hop’s best. –dusty culpepper
