J. Moss Joins the McDonald’s Gospel Tour
As part of the legendary, Clark/Moss family, J. Moss knows the music business. But it isn’t the checks he collects or the acclaim that moves him — it’s his faith.
“… People have more faith in their abilities than they do in God,” says the singer-producer who will be featured on the McDonald’s Gospel Tour. “You’ve living beneath your privilege if you live like that. Your ultimate belief should be in God.”
And so, by faith he puts his family first, despite the demands of being on tour and being one third of one of the most sought after production crews in the business, PAJAM.
“Balancing family is a must,” he says. “I always want my family to know that they are of the utmost importance because if that’s not right, I’m not going to be right on stage and I’m not going to be right as a minister because I’m always going to be thinking about the stronghold in my house.”
On the brink of releasing his third solo album, Just James, J. Moss says that he had a revelation that changed his life. That experience is going to be detailed on this album (due out in August), for listeners to digest. He only hopes that people are sensitive to the new direction that he’s moving in.
“God took me through something right before it was time to go into the studio,” he says. “My whole life shifted, and you’re going to hear that.”
With his feet firmly planted in his faith, J. Moss doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. Busy prepping for the release of his new album, grooming his group, 21:03 and handling production duties for PAJAM, he’s grateful to still be able to do what he loves — music.
“My only prayer now is that people be sensitive to the new J. Moss,” he says. “This is me stripped down without the gloss.” –jh
