Katherine Jackson, the matriarch of the Jackson clan, requested and was awarded guardianship of all three of Michael Jackson’s children, Prince Michael, Paris Katharine and Prince Michael II, aka Blanket. The request was granted by a Los Angeles probate court earlier today.
The children have been in the custody of Mrs. Jackson at the Encino home where she and Joe raised the Jackson family since the superstar singer passed away unexpectedly on June 25. Guardianship is not permanent custody, but allows the children to stay with Mrs. Jackson until the issue of permanent custody is settled.
Debbie Rowe, Michael Jackson’s ex-wife and birth mother of the two eldest children, has not stated whether she will attempt to gain custody of them. An earlier British tabloid story, which reported Rowe as saying that Mr. Jackson was not the biological father of the two eldest children and that she had no interest in pursuing custody, has since been declared unfounded. –sly
