One thing is for certain, Ledisi’s pipes haven’t gone anywhere. On her latest release, Turn Me Loose, she lets it all hang out on tracks like the strong “Runnin” and on the mellower “Everything Changes.” Singing with a hint of soulful regret on the title track, Ledisi’s strength has always been her rich, emotive vocals. Other standouts include the ballad “Higher Than This” and “Goin Through Them Changes.” This is a great pick for anyone with an appreciation for grown woman music. –jacinta howard
