Ro Music News Bits: Diddy Remixes Twitter, T.I. and Shawty Lo End Beef and Eminem Law Suit Could Cha

T.I. gives final performance as a T.I. and Shawty End Their Beef (Again)
On Friday, March 6, T.I. gave a show-stopping performance at his venue, Club Crucial in Atlanta — his last show as a free man before he begins serving a one-year jail sentence. And while Tip’s swagger on stage was respectable, the highlight was when fellow Bankhead rapper, Shawty Lo, hopped on stage with him to publicly state their “beef” is squashed — again. The next day, T.I. was spotted at Barnes & Noble for the Saving Our Daughters book signing. However, his appearance at Brooklyn Middle School was cancelled after the Department of Education pulled the plug on the event, saying that it was “too commercial.”

Diddy Remixes Twitter
Sean “Diddy” Combs has added a remix to his Twitter page with “P. Twitty TV.” The feature is an intimate video component that will allow viewers to get a more personal glimpse of the mogul’s day-to-day activities. Although the vlog launched March 5, there are already five episodes online. Diddy can currently be seen on MTV’s “Making the Band” and is working on his new album, Last Train to Paris, which is scheduled to drop this fall.

Eminem Lawsuit Could Be the Future of the Music Industry
In a case that could affect the music industry for years to come, a federal jury ruled against Eminem’s former producers, barring them from collecting increased royalties for songs sold online. Mark and Jeff Bass, owners of F.B.T. Productions, filed the suit against Aftermath/Interscope Records in 2002. The suit requested that the Bass Brothers receive 50 percent of all proceeds for works sold through online stores, such as Apple’s iTunes and various ringtone providers. The suit was filed on the grounds that songs provided to online retailers should be treated as digital master copies, and subject to a 50 percent royalty rate split.
