The fun part about Monopoly is passing Go and being able to collect $200. Life is like that, and we can collect a reward every day with the proper motivation, because we have a monopoly on our own lives. We are actually in charge of the entire real estate that is inside our heads, should we choose to program it correctly. The New Year is a time for new beginnings.
Starting today, we must remove doubt from our vocabularies and increase our faith. We must jettison complacent behavior and procrastination and redouble our commitment to every agreement that we make with others and ourselves. This is the beginning of a new season of discipline. The diligent can harvest all of the things they desire.
It’s time for a paradigm shift in thinking and behavior. Don’t make a resolution. That is so 2008. 2009 represents an opportunity to make radical changes in your life. It’s time to fashion measurable, sustainable solutions for your life. It’s time to recharge your batteries through meditation. It’s well past time for yada yada yada to take a backseat to action.
Are you a doer or a talker? Will you challenge yourself to embrace wholesale change? Many folks doubt the transformative power of serenity, but don’t allow yourself to be duped by the hype. You will be tempted to be pessimistic, to doubt yourself, to lose sight of the full picture — but when you find peace, those negative thoughts will have no power over you. This is the year to plant and nurture a seed of hope in yourself, your family and your community.
