Grand Hustle/Mixtape
Once
known for the colorful descriptions of his cars and other worldly
possessions, Young Dro’s lyrical focus seems to have changed recently
along with his wardrobe. His newest mixtape, Lo Life is
obviously Dro lobbying for top 40 radio play rather than spitting the
playful banter that his fans grew to love. There are still a few jams
for the streets like the hard-hitting “Let’s Get It,” but unfortunately
these don’t seem to pop up as frequently as crossover attempts like the
vocoder-assisted “Go To The Club”. –a. hugh Leonard III
