Cash Rules: 4 Ideas For Earning Supplemental Income

More
than ever, Americans are looking for ways to earn extra money.
Supplemental income may mean a little extra money to save, but these
days, it can be the difference between getting by and getting evicted.
The best way to generate supplemental income is to translate your
skills and knowledge into a secondary business. And, with a little
planning, you may be able to turn that supplemental income source into
a long-term moneymaking alternative.

Here are some ideas for supplementing your cash flow:

1. Freelancing. If you have a
specialized skill, you can find work online as a writer, Web designer,
graphic designer or tech support. It’s the easiest way to turn that
skill into extra income.

2. Look in your backyard – and your neighbor’s.
Garage sales and odd jobs may sound tedious – but they are proven
sources of supplemental income. You’re providing goods and/or services
that are readily at your disposable. Once again, there’s no overhead.

3. Many sales positions are available.
These types of positions offer the possibility of residual income and
unlimited earning potential. These positions are excellent for anyone
who comes from a retail or management background.

4. Get a second job close to where you live.
Also, look for jobs at hospitals, schools and other institutions that
offer more security than retail and food-service industries.

No matter what business approach you take, be sure to keep your
overhead low, rather than advertising, use networking and word-of-mouth
to attract customers. Also, consider the entry costs of any business
endeavor you undertake, and start slowly to ensure that you’re
profitable at each step of the process.
