Elbonie Hornbuckle- 4 Easy Tips For Improving Your Spinal Health
Owner, Loving Care Family Chiropractic
Once
you passed the age of 25, most people can recall a time when they’ve
experienced back pain. Many just brush it off as the normal aches of an
active body. Dr. Elbonie Hornbuckle warns against ignoring back pain
and encourages people to be more aware of what’s going on with their
backs. She recommends visiting a chiropractor before experiencing back
problems and pain. “Chiropractic was meant to be a preventive
medicine,” explains Dr. Hornbuckle. “Just as you would go to the
dentist twice a year to get your teeth cleaned, you should be checking
on [your] spine just as often.”
Dr. Hornbuckle and Loving Care
are dedicated to making the public aware of the benefits of
chiropractic care. “We [specialize in] lower back, to neck and shoulder
issues, to numbness and tingling. Migraine headaches are probably one
of my favorite things to work on,” she shares. “Most people don’t know
about the actual benefits of chiropractic. I love [that] I get to help
so many people.” –todd Williams
Dr. Hornbuckle offers these tips for ensuring that your back isn’t being brutalized by your daily activities:
1. “Posture is very important,
[but] we take it lightly. [Don’t] sit at desks and slump. Sitting in
the same position all day … [makes your back] weary.”
2. “You’re supposed to sleep on
your back. Your mattress is supposed to cradle you. If you’re lying on
your stomach, you don’t have any support for the spine.”
3. “If you’re running today and
you’re not a [regular] runner, you should start slowly. Don’t start
with a run – start with a walk. Move it up to a fast walk and then a
light jog.”
4. “Drink lots of water.”
