There are those moments when you travel and find
That you need to find a place in your mind to remember that person
Whose eyes are unforgettable
To understand an individual who lived in Jamaica
Yet for that moment dated a woman who was in Columbia
It’s a presence of mind
That will permanently attach
The linkage between the experiences you’re having
And the very life and the things that they share
It’s at this moment that even he, Brian, that was his name at that moment
Began to discern whether the world had enough people
And based on his travel he definitely cemented in his mind
Whether he sired a child today or tomorrow that there were enough and
And that the burden of being a father
Of his own child and being a father to many children
To pass through his loins without him having to sire a child
But these were only seconds in a conversation
Where a brilliant brother whose life and calling
Continued to be like the nomads
As the diaspora of the world continued to be
his oasis
And yet the maze of life is never answered
And here we are poised wondering whether Brian will ever record the travels or
Will the million- or billion-dollar idea happen
While he’s on his journey
But for Brian and for all of us, life is but a journey
The beginning and end come before we know it’s over
Maybe we should consider being the Brians
So that each is just a consideration in our thought pass for that day
For that moment for that era
For those thoughts where we haven’t chosen
But have accepted the fact that we understand our journey will end
And transform to a beginning again where no one is certain
No one can come back and say it has happened
So we all travel until that time comes.

Peace.
