Tiger Woods Will Retire From Golf to Keep His Wife; Reports of Hiring Escorts Emerge

tger woods and elinAfter being embroiled in one of the biggest sex scandals of the modern era, golf megastar Tiger Woods is willing to retire from the game he loves in order to save his marriage, according to media reports.

Giving up golf is one of the stipulations Woods must abide by in order to proceed forward with the marriage reconciliation agreement, according to Canada’s Toronto Sun and Britain’s The Sun. What’s terribly ironic is that Woods, a famous control freak, has to give up all control of the marriage to his wife in an ironic role-reversal for the athlete.

Meanwhile, bad news continues to gush out in torrents about Woods’ sexual dalliances. The New York Post reports that Woods spent sizable portions of the couple’s fortune on high-priced Manhattan escorts. Woods spent tens of thousands of dollars, each time, to have a well-known Hollywood madam set him up with women-for-hire in the many cities that he visited for golfing tournaments. He often paid more to watch and participate in a girl-on-girl session or ménage à trois.

As if it could get any worse, TMZ is reporting that Woods’ lawyers are trying to block the publication of explicit photographs of Woods that were to be published in British tabloids. Several women who claim they’ve engaged in affairs with Woods allegedly supplied the photos to the publications.

The salacious sex scandal exploded like a nuclear mushroom cloud the day after Thanksgiving when Woods proffered highly questionable and contradictory explanations for that infamous car crash against a fire hydrant and tree outside his home.

Steven A. Smith, a former ESPN star sports commentator, told “Mayhem in the AM” on Atlanta’s 790 The Zone that Elin Nordegren’s extreme fury caused her to strike out violently at Woods on that fateful day that changed their lives forever. Woods, who was on medication and in a disoriented state, fled his home barefoot and drove while his wife bashed in the windows with a golf club, causing the crash, Smith purports.

Greg “the Shark” Norman, the golf game’s biggest superstar before Tiger, sympathizes with both Tiger’s and the media’s predicament in this sordid affair.

“Unfortunately, the media are the media,” Norman told CBS Sports. “They support you on the way up. And when you need them … we use you just as much as you use us. And when you step across the line, you’ve got to kind of take a little bit of the wrath of god, or whatever you want to call it.”
