Tiger Woods’ Wife Elin Nordegren Signing Shoe Deal With Puma? Tiger Wins AP Athlete of the Decade

Now how’s this for irony? Tiger Woods’ endorsement companies are suddenly retreating faster than the golfer’s hairline. On the other hand, Tiger’s wife, Elin Nordegren, is reportedly close to signing an endorsement deal of her own — with a shoe company at that.

The name of the shoe company? Nike’s rival, Puma.

An official from Puma has not confirmed the two sides are in negotiations to sign the retired Swedish supermodel, only saying they are in “internal discussions” and calling Nordegren “a good brand fit,” says celebrity gossip publication TMZ. If signed, the blonde bombshell would become a spokesperson for Tretorn, the new Swedish-inspired clothing line.

In related news: In what has to be by far the most hollow victory of his entire career, Woods was voted Athlete of the Decade by the Associated Press.

Only time will tell if this latest victory — as with all of Woods’ other golf victories — were accomplished with the aid of illicit chemical enhancers. His Canadian doctor, Anthony Galea, 50, was recently arrested and is expected to be indicted in a Toronto court Friday on charges of conspiracy to distribute banned medicine. Galea’s assistant was stopped at the U.S.-Canadian border at Buffalo and, upon inspection, found human growth hormones and Actovegin in Galea’s bag.

So far, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the FBI have not said whether Woods will be implicated in the case. –terry shropshire
