The Grammy Award-winning rapper Nelly has built a successful brand through his varied entrepreneurial pursuits, including launching Pimp Juice energy drink, Vokal men’s clothing line, Apple Bottoms female clothing line, and his newest venture, Apple Bottoms perfume.
Rolling out caught up with the entrepreneur at Macy’s in Lenox Square mall in Atlanta, where he discussed the inspiration for his new perfume line as well as other projects he’s working on. “I have a new album due out next spring or possibly by the summer. I’m also working with Murphy Lee on a St. Lunatics project being released within the next few weeks,” offered the ultra popular rapper.
“My inspiration [for the perfume] was light, citrusy and sensual scents. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t over powering, but instead something a woman could wear everyday,” Nelly stated regarding Apple Bottoms perfume, Nelly expressed extreme satisfaction with his relationship with Macy’s. “Anytime you partner up with anyone, you want to make sure they get your vision and what you’re trying to do. Macy’s has been unbelievably supportive with licensing as it relates to our handbags, purses, the Apple Bottoms line, children’s wear and jewelry,” he said. –condia
