It all started when LaBelle had a fan brought on stage and they started “dirty dancing.” LaBelle then turned to the audience and said, “Oooooooooh he was coming so close.”
That’s where it gets ugly.
LaBelle abruptly stopped the music turned to the fan and shouted, “You’re rude. You’re very frickin’ rude. I don’t play like that! This is not Lil’ Kim. Do you know who I am?” A diva moment, to say the least.
The issue ended up being resolved without incident, but it took a moment for her to get her nerves together. Not sure what’s with the hypersensitivity, but is she starting to offend too easily? LaBelle’s fans have traditionally been a bit overzealous, but she knows that. Is it time to hang up the mic?
